D.C.L.Sr.Sec.School, Fazilka came into being in the year 1961on a large piece of land denoted by Late Lala Chanan Lal ji Ahuja, a well known philanthropist. He had a long term vision of providing a good facility fo quality education to all sections of society, both rich and poor. There are many institutions in this area that were established with the help of late Sh. Chanan Lal ji. He provided social, financial and moral support to the people who were in need and deserved help.
Initially this school was named as Bal Vidya Mandir. With the passage of time the name was changed to D.C Model School, Fazilka. Since inception, school has been contributing towards the noble cause of education very effectively and has produced many doctors, engineers, teachers, civil servants, sports personalities etc. The credit of this success of the school goes to all the members of the local ManagingCommittee headed by Sh. Surinder Kumar Ahuja.
About ten years back local managing committee felt the need of amalgamating the school with chain of DAV Public schools, under the direct management of DAV College Mg. Committee New Delhi. Accordingly in the year 2006 the school was taken over by DAV College Mg. Committee New Delhi and school got a new name D.C.L.Sr.Sec.School. It has now the advantage of overall guidance of the DAV Mg. Committee New Delhi
